Please read this before relying on anything here.
Not affiliated with the Board
This site is not affiliated with the Nevada State Contractors Board or any state agency. It is an independent guide. We do not issue, renew, suspend, review or rule on any contractor license, and we have no role in any application or proceeding.
Where this site describes what the Board requires, that is our reading of a published source, cited so you can check it. The Board’s own material governs; where the two differ, rely on the Board’s — and please report the error so the page can be re-checked against its source.
Not legal advice
Nothing on this site is legal advice, and nothing on it creates a lawyer–client relationship.
This matters more here than on most reference sites, because contractor licensing sits directly on top of questions — enforceability, liability, exposure to penalty — that are legal questions. So the line we hold is a specific one: we describe what the rules say; we do not tell you what to do about your situation. We will explain that classifications are defined by the kind of work they cover. We will not tell you which classification you need.
Applying a rule to one person’s facts, and advising on what follows, is legal work: doing it without a law license is the unauthorized practice of law (UPL). So where a question turns on how a provision should be construed rather than on its plain terms, we say so and stop.
If you need advice about your own license, contract or dispute, speak to a Nevada attorney or to the Board directly.
Accuracy and dates
Every regulatory statement here is checked against a primary, official source and cited, and carries a Last checked date — see our editorial standards. Fees, deadlines and rules change, and a page can be accurate on its Last checked date and out of date by the time you read it. Confirm anything you are about to act on against the Board’s own current material.
Some pages state explicitly what is not yet published here. Those gaps are deliberate and are not an invitation to assume the answer.
